Tampa Bay Federal Credit Union raises over $19,400 to help the Homeless during the Holiday Season

Tampa, FL – Recently, Tampa Bay Federal Credit Union held the 2nd Annual Ybor Kids Festival to benefit Metropolitan Ministries. Close to 120 credit union associates participated in raising money, collecting canned food, and hosting the festival. Divided into 12 teams, Tampa Bay Federal associates competed against each other to raise money for Metropolitan Ministries. Their fundraisers included garage sales, drawings, bake sales, and dunk tank ticket sales. The Human Resources team won first place by collecting $330 per team member, followed by the Central Lending team and the Risk Management team.

The Ybor Kids Festival was held on October 6, 2007 at the Tampa Bay Federal Credit Union branch on 3815 N Nebraska Ave. Some of the event highlights included:
- The unveiling of the 2008 Burgert Brothers Calendar (Friends of the   Library)
- Announcement of the Jeep promotion winner (2-year lease on a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited)
- Lowry Park Zoo – wild animal petting zoo
- Autograph signing by Dave Andreychuk, Tampa Bay Lightning
- Check presentation to Metropolitan Ministries

Metropolitan Ministries is a local nonprofit organization. The mission of the organization is to care for the homeless and those at risk of becoming homeless through services that alleviate suffering, promote dignity and instill self-sufficiency.
